Nature Drawing Course
WITH BODIL EIDE AND PAULO BORGES
Nature Drawing Course to develop and enrich the ability to express oneself through drawing.
Structured drawing classes with technical demonstrations and exercises, and a program enriched with lectures and projection of images focusing on art history and contemporary practices.
But above all, we have the best teacher available: nature. The forest surrounding Cerdeira Home For Creativity is full of texture, light and shadow, marks and line quality. We will make the outside our studio but also the recently restored schist houses, namely the Casa das Artes, an example of a sustainable and ecological restoration approach to vernacular architecture.
We will have working spaces for the group and also for individual practice. There will also be time to work on creative projects, exploring simple ways of working with personal content.
Learning to draw is a process of discovery. It takes time, patience and practice, but it can open up the possibility of a new appreciation of the world, our senses and abilities, as well as the legacy of so many designers throughout art history.
Paulo Borges
Born in the UK in 1969. In 1994 he obtained a degree in Communication Design at the Faculdade de Belas Artes de Lisboa. He worked as a designer between 1995 and 2015, developing solutions for print and digital contexts. Since 2007 from his participation in workshops and residencies with Shakinovsky and Gavronsky he has been dedicated to art and its teaching.
Bodil Eide
Born 1975 in Norway and obtained a degree in Fine Arts in Oslo, Norway. She has shown her artwork in galleries such as F15 Tegneforbundet and Hordaland Kunsntersenter in Norway and has work in the drawing collection of the National Gallery. She was co-founder and co-director for 7 years of an independent art school in Lisbon (nextART) and is a regular guest teacher/speaker at art schools in Norway and Portugal. Bodil received her specialized training of trainers in fine arts in 2004 and 2005, beginner and advanced level, in Florence.

NATURE DRAWING COURSE DETAILS
SCHEDULE:
9am to 6pm
CONDITIONS:
Enrollments up to 1 month before the course start date.
10% discount on the total cost of the course if you make a prompt payment until 2 MAY 2022.
THE COURSE FEE INCLUDES:
• Integration into small working groups (6 to 10 people);
• Training of 5-6 hours a day, spoken in English and supported in Portuguese;
• Atelier open 12 hours a day;
• Welcome dinner;
• All the materials needed for the course;
• Free accommodation in our shared residences during the course (upon availability). The residences are equipped with a dormitory, kitchen, shared bathrooms, washing machine, towels, bed linen, and wi-fi;
• 10% discount on the base rate when booking an individual house (minimum of 2 nights). The base rate refers to a stay of 2 people and includes breakfast, equipped kitchen, towels, bed linen, and wi-fi.
ADICIONAL LUNCH SERVICE:
Lunch package for 14€/meal when booked at least one week before check-in. After this date, the regular price applies.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR COURSES AND WORKSHOPS
You may withdraw within 14 days of registration, paying the correspondent transfer fees. Following the EU consumer protection legislation, payments are not refunded past 14 days of registration. The payment will be fully reimbursed if the training cannot be held because of insufficient students.
Suppose the training is canceled by Cerdeira - Home For Creativity for reasons of significant force such as a pandemic, civil disorder, a natural catastrophe, medical or family issues of the teacher, and others beyond our control. In that case, Cerdeira will offer a voucher for a different workshop of your choice. The voucher is valid for two years.
