Elementos à solta - Art Meets Nature
23-25 JULY 2021
Reconstruction of the World
After a break when the world stopped and gave us time to ponder, it's time to come back and do better!
The 14th edition of Elements à Solta proposes a world made of art: from poetry to sculpture, from music to crafts. Art will wander around the village, with interactive exhibitions, original shows and creative workshops for everyone who wants to participate.
In this return, our guest artists have a mission: to rethink and rebuild a world by hand, as imaginative as all our dreams.
“(...) So I start again without ceasing from the blank page
And this is my poet’s craft for the reconstruction of the world!”
GUEST ARTISTS
Throughout the thirteen editions of the event,Elements à Solta has received national and international artists from the most varied areas at Cerdeira: from ceramics, music, wood sculpture and theater to art in stone and paper, among many others. Bringing art to the setting of a schist village, in one of the most beautiful Portuguese mountains, is the origin of a perfect harmony. Here, theartists show the creative result of their transformations and populate Cerdeira with their imagination!

AGENDA
Cristina Branco &
João Paulo Esteves da Silva
What do two musician friends do when they meet a piano in the middle? They look for a way to get together in music, in poetry, they look for harmony and laugh at the encounter. From Zeca to Fado, from Sérgio Godinho to Cole Porter and everything they feel like sharing with anyone who comes to hear them, they’ll fill our minds with beautiful things. Credits: Márcia Lessa
Manuela Serra
Director Manuela Serra presents her film “The Movement of Things” and presents us with her presence. She was assistant editor of the film "Deus, Pátria, Autoridade", a founding member of Cooperativa Virver, produced and assisted in several medium-length films and in "Bom Povo Português", by Rui Simões.
Cães do Mar
“Os Amores Encardidos by Padi & Balbina “ is the first show by the Azorean company Dogs of the Sea. The show has an irreverent tone and mixes mime, music, dance, clown and slapstick comedy. It is mostly in Portuguese but includes some profane language from 16th century English.
Kimi Djabaté
Kimi Djabaté is a Guinean musician and composer. In spite of being born in a Mandinga music center, soon became interested in other styles of music such as local Afro Mandinga dance, gumbé, afrobeat, morna, jazz and blues, incorporating all these influences into the music he creates and which has already given rise to 3 successful discs.
GEFAC
The Academy of Coimbra's Ethnography and Folklore Group (GEFAC) has developed an exhaustive work of collecting, treating and disseminating the Portuguese intangible heritage. They use popular manifestations in a creative perspective, creating a completely original globalizing show.
D. Roberto Theatre
Teatro D. Roberto has its origins in the 50’s when puppet masters crossed the country with their shows at fairs and pilgrimages. With the characteristic distorted voice of the characters, this puppet theater comes to us through the hands of master puppets who keep a precious tradition alive.
