Manual Tools

Manual tools like carving knives, gouges, chisels, and mallets are essential for fine details and precision in wood carving. They offer control and are ideal for intricate designs. Gouges allow for creating texture. Carving Knives are ideal for creating delicate lines and contours. The mallet helps apply force, allowing deeper cuts and shaping. This method is perfect for smaller, detailed work and for projects that require precision and patience, providing a direct connection with the material.

Power tools

Power tools like Arbotech offer a more efficient approach for large-scale projects. These tools are designed to quickly remove wood, making them ideal for rough shaping and larger sculptures. The speed and power of electric tools like the chainsaws allow for faster material removal, especially when working with bigger pieces of wood. While they produce more dramatic results, they require extra care and focus to ensure safety and control.

Choosing the suitable tool for each project
