Casa do Forno

With a privileged view over the village’s natural pool, the Casa do Forno is a small charming two-floor schist house decorated in cheerful tones.

There is a bathroom, kitchen, and dining area on the ground floor with an inviting traditional wood burner.

You will find a bedroom with two twin beds when you climb up the stairs. This room hosts a traditional oven, hence the house's name. This floor also gives access to an outdoor patio, ideal for reading or for taking small meals. Your pet is also welcome at the Casa do Forno!

Like all the other houses in Cerdeira, the Casa do Forno has been restored using ecological and regional materials and favoring the use of local contractors. All houses have central heating and offer great comfort in winter and summer. You will find basic staples in the kitchen, such as salt, sugar, spices, olive oil, and vinegar. To guarantee that you make the most out of the village’s quietness, we have chosen not to install TVs in any of the houses. Wifi is available.

You can make your stay even more special by planning a creative experience or joining one of the workshops and courses we host at our Arts and Crafts School throughout the year.

ARTISTIC CREATIONS

Cristina Vilarinho and Alberto Azevedo live and work in Gumarães where they share the studio PROJECTO A2. Portuguese literature and culture are their most important inspiration for their art as you can find out in their intervention in this house. Have a look at the big panel of azulejos (painted tiles), an Invitation figure, as there used to be at the entrances of Portuguese palaces in the 18th century, which not only welcome our guests. It is a giant being, an incredibly rich drawing from Cristina, a portrait of flora and fauna of the Lousã mountains that welcomes us to love, to contemplate, and to be part of nature.

By making a reservation with us, you agree to our booking conditions.

* Payment of 50% of the total amount is required for booking. 
* Prices are quoted per night and house for two adults, breakfast included.

Additional charges:

• 30€ per night for additional adult guests

• 20€ per night for children from 4 up to 11 years (inclusive)

• 20€ per stay if a baby cot is requested.

• 20€ per stay if you’re bringing pets (pets are welcome at Casa do Forno, Casa da Janela, Casa da Escada, Casa do Sol, Casa das Estórias, and Casa do Vale)
  

Note: Each house is assigned a time for breakfast. The service is done at Café da Videira, and you can enjoy breakfast on our terrace or in the covered area next to the cafe overlooking the valley.
